FIRST EVALUATION: TWO MONTHS IN POLAND

Two months ago that I live in Glogów...And all I can say is that this two months have been really perfect. I have no complaints about anything or anyone.

Last Friday we met Darek, Martyna and me, to do a little evaluation about these two months of my EVS project. First, I asked about if I needed more money for food, if I needed something for the flat, etc.. to which I replied that everything was fine, I did not need anything. Then Darek told me that, from that moment, my tutor is Martyna, which I greatly appreciated, because she is a beautiful person and I have enough confidence to her about personal issues, etc.. So I agreed. They also asked about my work in Dolina Milosci, to which I replied that everything was fine, the only thing I want to know what they think about me and what they expect me to do there.Darek told me that he thinks that everything with me there is ok. Then, he offered me the activities plan. He will send this plan and then, I must choose what I want to learn, how and when. Also, I will teach Spanish. On that topic, I have been working and creating my own project. It is a thematic workshop about Spain based on Euroaula, from my sending organization,Gantalcalá . It consists of 10 sessions of 2 hours. These sessions will cover topics such as the history of Spain, Spanish culture, current situation of Spain, food, etc.. All developed so playful and fun. Darek liked the idea, so probably, Spanish Aula, will start soon. Thank to Gantalcalá for being my inspiration!

Finally, Darek offered me his opinion and that of the organization about me and my work here in Szansa. He told me that everyone was happy with me, they did not have any complaints. His words to me were very nice. I could hardly contain my desire to mourn with joy! This makes me want to work with enthusiasm and offer the best of me because they trust me and I want that them be proud of me.

For my part, I have also made a self-assessment. In these two months, I have improved my English, I learned a lot about Polish language. I can better guide me through the streets of unpronounceable names and I can easily go shopping. I have met many great people and I have visited many beautiful places. I am very happy working with children. I think they like me, they show it to me with love and with small gifts. They are adorable. It is hard to describe what I feel for these kids, but I look them and I just want to hug and protect them. I do not need to know Polish to communicate with them, I know what they want just watching them. I think that is good, right?

I have learned to enjoy the small pleasures of life, I do not need much to be happy: a good conversation, the smile of a child, a walk through the city, the sunlight coming through the window ... I think that is the most important thing. At last, I have finally discovered where garbage is deposited (in the same building where I live, in the hallway, next to the stairs there is a door, you can open it and tachán! there is a hole where you leave the garbage bag that falls to a room next to the gate.) I know that people are very cautious when crossing streets, always with green light and on the zebra crossing. I also know that children always call adults Sir (pan) or Madam (pani),  they are extremely educated. And I know that here there are a lot of tea drinkers.

I know enough about Polish culture and I love it! but I still have much to discover! I have a lifetime to find out!
